A Single Glance

A single glance is
An expression of interest
An undying curiosity
An unrelenting disappointment.
A manifestation of pity
Of fury, of sadness, of love
That a thousand words could not express.
That single glance is
Worthy of questioning
Inspiring of wonder
Ungrateful and bitter
Maddening, cowardly,
heart-wrenching, intoxicating.
A feeling that desires
More than just a word.
Inexpressable but through screams
And sobs, and laughter,
Through a burst of sound,
a work of art, or a kiss.
For in a glance
Hides an infinity of words.
