Poem

Love Like Winter

Love is like winter
Deceitful and cold
Beautiful it draws you
No matter what you're told.

Alluring and white
And though it seems pure,
what lies under the surface
You can never be sure.

You'll stumble in blindly
And once it has your trust,
To keep you entranced
It will do what it must.

It will whisper in your ear
Feed you its lies
Like the wind it will speak
Of green fields, bluer skies.

But still it gets colder
More bitter, more grey
Winter takes over
Until one day

It leaves you, empty
With nothing more to devote
In layers upon layers
Upon layers of coats.

You'll be left standing there
And as spring blooms around
Colors emerging
You'll be surprised to have found

That the walls you had built
Have not melted themselves
And unwilling to destroy them
You'll be trapped in yourself.

You'll remain that way
Not to love twice
Bitter as winter
Cold as ice.

You put this in you portfolio, yes? I like it a lot! YOu use strong imagery and create an even stronger mood.
